So, who am I and what is up with this site? Hopefully this page answers those questions.
First, a bit about me. I'm a woman in her 30s. I have a wonderful husband, and two baby boys. When I started this site, I didn't have any children, and it may seem a bit odd that a motherless woman would be making a web site dedicated to parents, but that's how life ended up. I've been obsessively reading everything I could get my mitts on regarding raising kids and homeschooling for years now - everything from "What to Expect When You're Expecting" to science text books. I slink into the children's department at the local library and coo over the picture books and browse the biographies. I've made lists and lists and lists of kid-centered ideas... but have rarely had the chance to actually put any of this information to use. One day, after looking over some of my lists, I came to the conclusion that I might as well put some of my ideas up online and see if anyone else was interested in any of it. And that's how this site was born.
I have a degree in Electrical Engineering, a minor in mathematics, and would have loved to have been a librarian. My hobbies include this web site, reading, and cross-stitching (occasionally scrapbooking too). I lead a women's Bible Study, a Sunday School class, and various other church related activities. I have a strong personal relationship with Jesus and, while I hope I am not obnoxious to non-Christians, I am not ashamed to say that this site will have a Christian emphasis.
This website is free. I'm not adding any advertising (at least I don't think I ever will), and I'm not asking for people to buy anything from me. Donations would certainly be appreciated, but I'm not expecting it. There are links to Amazon books for people who want to buy their material rather than use a library, and I do (theoretically) get a tiny amount of money from that, so I do ask that if someone is going to buy a book (or whatever) anyway, it'd be nice if you did so by clicking the link I've provided.
If you'd like to contact me for any reason, feel free to do so and I'll try to respond promptly.
